I have put together a block of work that I want to finish before we end the school year at the end of the month and we are on track to complete it in time. We are going on a small vacation to Kelowna and I really am hoping to have the school year wrapped up before we go.
We plan to do a lot of nature study during the summer months. Trees, wildflowers, weather. Things like that. Plus we plan to do a lot of reading and a lot of artwork. I have purchased new sketchbooks, watercolors, drawing pencils and blank notebooks. They are all at the ready, waiting to be filled. We plan to spend a lot of days at Pike Lake, which is a mere 15 minutes from our home. Lots to do there for sure. I just wish I could maneuver our canoe on and off of my truck by myself but I can't so we'll have to save the canoeing for the weekend when the man can come along.
I, too, am planning many many leisurely days sitting on my newly outfitted deck (thanks Mom!) reading books and sipping wine lemonade. Aw, who am I kidding. I just did a life expectancy test and I am to live to be 100 so I guess a few extra glasses won't kill me that soon. ;)
This past week we have spent an enormous amount of time in the great outdoors. We even went frogging for the first time in my life. My older girls Jess and Jill used to go all the time but I never went along. Now that I only have one child at home I have to do these things. We caught 5 tadpoles, or what I believe to be tadpoles. Time will tell I guess. The weather has been so nice that we have even been doing some bookwork outside as well. It is a much easier pill to swallow for this nature girl! But today it is raining and where is Athena? Putting on her rubber boots and heading out of course!

We have been outside a lot too. The weather has been too nice to stay inside. Love the new look of your blog---very pretty.
I'm sure Athena would do her school work outside in the middle of January!
Love your patio rug!
Learning outside is so much more fun than being cooped up! Have fun catching frogs and p.s. you don't need rubber gloves. Owen has been catching and holding pond frogs for three years with no ill effects :)
Enjoy!
Outside learning is my favorite kind. I think I'll stock up on some of those supplies you mentioned for our summer too...good idea!
