It was 30 years since my boyfriend
"made it official".
We were going steady. (remember that phrase?)
I was 15 years old.
He had just turned 16.
I am glad he asked.
I am glad I said yes.
Not once has he ever forgotten to mark the day.
These lilies were the gift this year.
